MINExpo’s International Flavor
Key to Commerce’s Buyer Program

One of the strong attractions of MINExpo® 2008 will be its international flavor. That's a principal reason why the Department of Commerce (DOC) again has selected MINExpo® to participate in its International Buyer Program. The show has been chosen for its strong international attendance and, consequently, for its potential for expanding U.S. exports.

So if your company has targeted international markets for future expansion, the International Buyer Program is available to you to advance that strategy.

Here's how it works: in advance of the show, MINExpo attendees—including international attendees—can indicate specific areas of interest and products they want to see while at the show. When they get to MINExpo, they check in at the International Business Center, where representatives of the Department of Commerce can counsel international visitors, overcome language barriers and arrange meetings with U.S. exhibitor companies. In a real sense, DOC representatives are matchmakers, putting buyers and sellers together in an environment conducive to doing business.

One of the keys to success, according to DOC, is having the right people at the show, people who have decision-making authority.

Not all shows are chosen to participate in the International Buyer Program. In fact, DOC chose only 32 shows for 2008. MINExpo consistently has been one of the shows chosen because of its ability to work well with the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service, strong international attendance and its ability to increase U.S. exports in the mining sector.

As we get closer to the show, Exhibitor eNews will publish and update the list of countries that have committed to send delegations to the show.
